APPLICATIONS
Sealing threaded joints in steel, brass, aliminium and other metal
pipes. Sealing threaded joints in plastic piping. Lubricating sliding
surfaces such as metal or wood windows and doors. Coating ruber
or plastic gaskets to prevent sticking to metal surfaces and make
removal easier.
PENLOC 864 is suitable for sealing pipes carrying all gases except
fluorine. It will burn in 100% oxygene, so is not recommended for
liquid oxygene service.
ADVANTAGES
Makes firm seal of threaded joints. Sealing pressure squeezes out
the water in which teflon particles are dispersed and leaves behind
a solid film of teflon polymer which resists water, solvents, heat
and chemicals. Permits easy removal of threaded pipes or screws.
Lubricates wood or metal surfaces to make sliding easier.

Odour : Almost Odourless
Flammability : Nonflammable wet or dry.
Burns only in pure oxygene.
Freeze - Thaw Resistance : Coagulates
if frozen and cannot be redispersed.
Chemical Resistance : Resistant to acids,
bases and all known solvents.
Heat Resistance : Resists dry heat and
steam up to 230oC. Decomposition slow up to 400oC.
Heat of Combustion : 1600 cal/gram (very
low)
Reactivity : Inert except to powdered
aliminium and magnesium or to sodium and potasium metals.
